Maria Brings More Coastal Concerns to the East

24 Sep 2017, 7:15 am

Eyes are on Maria as the hurricane continues to move northward in the Atlantic.

The current thinking of Maria’s path keeps the hurricane off shore but that doesn’t mean the East Coast won’t see impacts. Marine Alerts are in place up and down the East Coast from Miami all the way to Boston. The main concerns will be high surf and dangerous rip currents. Many locations like the Outer Banks, NC are just getting over last week’s effects from Jose. The same region could see Maria giving more concerns for coastal flooding and potentially heavy rain at times.
