Maria Strengthens to a Category 1 Hurricane… Again

Maria has restrengthened to a category 1 hurricane.

It currently has maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour and a minimum central pressure of 978 mb.

It is moving north-northeast at 6 mph and is expected to take a more easterly track over the next day.

On Tuesday, Maria weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm, but reached hurricane status again Wednesday morning.

On September 17, Maria became a hurricane for the first time in the 2017 Atlantic season.
