Flooding has been a big issue across the nation’s heartland this week and weekend following torrential rainfall, and one city in particular took the brunt of the rain.
West Plains, Missouri, located in the south-central portion of the state in the Ozark Mountains, saw its wettest month on record due to the incredibly heavy rainfall, mainly from this past week. The city saw over seven inches of rain between Saturday and Sunday alone, putting its total April rainfall total up to 15.73″, the wettest month in West Plains’ record books, which date back to 1948.
