Another day, another round of snow and rain for the west. Flooding rains and heavy snow continue from the Sierra to the Rockies. Wind has been an issue as well, with gusts above 80 mph clocked in Oregon yesterday.
Winter Storm Warnings now extend into California, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado. Several more feet of snow is on the way in some of the mountain ranges into this weekend.
Much more rain is expected too. By this weekend, parts of California may see an additional 6″ of rain. Flash Flood Watches continue. Some areas have already seen more than an inch of rain in the last 24 hours, on top of the high amounts from earlier this week.
Another surge of energy from the Pacific Ocean will push ashore late tonight into Friday into California. Heavy rain will pound the coast with heavy snow flying in the mountains.
On Saturday, the moisture will expand further into the Southwest. Arizona will see areas of heavy rain, with snow into the mountains. Another front will approach the Pacific Coast late Saturday night with more precipitation.
It sounds like a broken record, but the precipitation will continue on Sunday. Heavy snow in the Sierra with rain throughout most of California as another front pushes through the region.
