Parts of New York could see more heavy lake-effect snow by the end of the weekend. A few snow showers will be possible for Thanksgiving, but the snow accumulation will likely not amount to much. That might not be the story for Saturday night and Sunday.
Lake-Effect Set-Up
A cold front moving through the Northeast on Saturday will help to set-up this lake effect snow chance. Cold air behind the front will be moving over the warm waters of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie and produce lake-effect snow showers. The latest timing for snow will be Saturday night and early Sunday.
Snowfall Forecast
Snowfall potential should fall into the 1 to 6 inch range, but this forecast estimate will likely change as we get closer and have a better handle on this set-up.
