Mountain Snows Continue in the West
Areas of heavy snow continue throughout portions of the mountains in the West, with up to another foot possible in the highest elevations. Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the Rockies in Colorado through early Saturday morning. Wind gusts to near 50 mph will create significant blowing and drifting snow.
Although the heaviest snow has already fallen in the Tetons, total accumulations will reach to near a foot along with strong wind gusts. Winter Storm Warnings continue into the early evening.
Minor additional snowfall amounts are possible for the Sierra Nevada and in the higher elevations of Nevada. A few more inches are possible in the Wasatch range through this evening.
