Nate yields Tornado Watch for parts of Alabama and Florida
As of early Sunday morning, Nate was downgraded to a Tropical Storm with winds at 45 mph.
The winds are still weakening but Nate still has very heavy rainfall especially to the north and east of the center.
Flash Flood Watches and Warnings are in place up and down Nate’s path. A trough moving across the eastern half of the country is helping to steer Nate Northeast. This trough will also be another factor yielding a cold front to trigger additional showers and storms farther north today and tomorrow. Approximately 3-5″ expected to fall as Tropical Storm Nate pushes NNE through Today through early Tuesday morning.
Nate will continue to move north and northeast giving heavy rainfall for portions of Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia.
The secondary threat for severe weather remains in the forecast through the next several hours. Tornado Watch in effect until 10 AM CDT for parts of Alabama and Florida
