National Guard Gives Cockpit View of Aerial Firefighting in California

The California National Guard showed what it is like to fight fires from the air.

A C-130J crew delivered aid over California’s Pier Fire in Sequoia National Forest on September 1.

A US Forest Service lead plane flies ahead of the 146th Airlift Wing team.

In the video, it shows them dropping a puff of smoke to indicate the location of where retardant should be dropped.
