New Monthly Record Rainfall Within Reach for Seattle

27 Oct 2016, 6:27 pm

Even for Seattle, this has been a soggy month.

Washington’s largest and famously rainy city is just 0.07″ away from breaking the record for its wettest October. With more rain in the forecast through the weekend, Seattle could surpass the record of 8.96″ set back in October 2003.

More than an inch of rain fell in Seattle Wednesday, leading to some flooding on local streets. The official rain total on Wednesday was 1.23″, but it was only the 3rd wettest day of the month. The wettest day was October 13 with 1.75″ of rain. Seattle has only recorded three days this month without measurable rainfall.
