You Are Not Going to Believe Where It Is Going to Be Mild and Sunny This Weekend

16 Jan 2015, 2:32 pm

It is not often we get to talk about milder temperatures across places like Kansas and Nebraska this time of year. However, if you’ve been needing a break from the cold and dismal weather you’re in luck. Temperatures are expected to rise nearly 10 to 15° above average this weekend for the Central areas of the country and even portions of the Upper Midwest.

This unseasonably mild weather pattern looks to continue through the beginning of next week across the mid-portions of the country. Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma will benefit the most from the optimal weather pattern, as we’ll see temperatures hovering in the 50’s by Saturday and pushing towards the 60° mark by Sunday around places like Wichita, Kansas.

An upper trough across the Northwest will track towards the Northern Plains overnight Friday, and Midwest states by Saturday, putting us back in a brief northwesterly flow. Perhaps some gusty winds and a little cloud cover are the only elements we’ll likely see. No precipitation is expected. Despite this weak front, temperatures will still rebound very nicely by Sunday from Oklahoma all the way up to Nebraska and back towards the Southeast.

Another disturbance moves into the Midwest by Tuesday yielding a return to more seasonal-like temperatures by the middle of next week.

Enjoy it while it lasts!
