The November Forecast from the Climate Prediction Center

23 Oct 2017, 4:00 pm

Last week, NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center (CPC) released their forecast for November, with mild temperatures in the forecast over much of the country. Warmer than average weather is predicted for the Northeast and throughout most of the West. Drier than normal conditions are expected for the South and Southeast, with above average precipitation for the Northern Rockies. Cooler than average weather is not anticipated anywhere in the nation.

The CPC mentions that significant variability exists in some of the tools used for the forecast for the upcoming month. Uncertainties exist with the strength and timing of the upcoming La Nina, along with fluctuations in the Jet Stream pattern, which can shift quickly during this time of the year. The 30 day forecast will be updated again at the end of the month, on October 31st.
