Oklahoma Tornadoes

11 May 2010, 10:55 am

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone – hope all is well out there. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered damages and losses in yesterdays tornado outbreak through the central and southern Plain states. Oklahoma sustained the most damage with large, long tracked tornadoes and extremely large hail:

It was a busy day yesterday for local NWS (National Weather Service offices) and emergency management offices in the Plains.  As many as 45 tornadoes and funnel clouds  were reported in the locations highlighted by the red dots. Some of these tornadoes will likely be rated EF3 or EF4 strength. Damage survey teams will be out in the field today assessing the damage. We’ll know more about the strength of these tornadoes in coming days.

Thanks for checking on this Tuesday, have a good rest of the day.
