One More Night of Cold Temperature in the South
One more night of cold temperatures will be felt across the southern and eastern parts of the nation. Once again, a strong, slow moving area of high pressure has brought in the chilly temperatures. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories have been issued from the Tennessee Valley to the Big Bend of Florida.
The chill was felt early this morning from the Northeast to the Gulf of Mexico. Readings were below freezing into North Florida. High temperatures were slow to climb, even under sunshine.
Forecast lows tomorrow morning will be in the 20s as far south as North Carolina. Readings will drop below freezing down to I-10 in North Florida.
As the cold area of high pressure shifts to the east into the Atlantic Ocean Friday afternoon, temperatures will begin to climb back to near normal levels into this weekend. Southerly winds on the west edge of the high will pull up warmth from the Gulf of Mexico.
High temperatures will reach back into the 60s and 70s across the Southeast, with 50s up into the Mid Atlantic. Additional warming will be felt this weekend.
