PHOTOS: Snow Wallops Southern Rockies and the Southern Plains

After a nice mid-January warm-up, Old Man Winter has come back with a vengeance in parts of the southern Rockies and the Southern Plains. Significant snowfalls were reported from southern Colorado, northern New Mexico, the Texas Panhandle and even parts of western Oklahoma.

Most of the snow fell from late Wednesday though Thursday morning, dropping as much as 15 inches of snow is some locations.

Here’s a state-by-state wrap-up of some of the snowfall totals we’ve found:

Colorado

• 11.9 inches near Pinecliffe
• 11.5 inches near Colorado Springs
• 8.0 inches near Manitou Springs
• 4.0 inches near Pueblo
• 3.0 inches at Denver International Airport

New Mexico

• 16.0 inches near Edgewood
• 14.0 inches near Sedillo
• 13.0 inches near Ponderosa and Angel Fire
• 7.0 inches near Abiquiu and Portales
• 5.0 inches near Clovis

Texas

• 13.0 inches near Amarillo and Canyon
• 12.5 inches near Panhandle
• 11.0 inches near Claude
• 10.5 inches near McLean
• 7.0 inches near Dumas

Oklahoma

• 10.5 inches in Dill City
• 9.0 inches near Burns Flat
• 6.0 inches near Felt
• 5.0 inches near Sayre and Boise City
• 3.0 inches in Hooker
