A cold front marching through the southern part of the country brought some well needed rain to some communities. Unfortunately, several of the areas that really need a break from the dry spell saw low amounts of rain or none. Areas around Mobile and Pensacola saw their dry streaks come to an end. The rain began in the afternoon on Monday with the first few recorded hundredths and more rain fell into the evening.

Another round of rainfall is possible later this weekend into the weekend. This will hopefully help additional areas experiencing the drought.
Many areas in the Deep South and Southeast have seen very little rain over the last month or two. Rainfall deficits over a foot are being seen in some areas for the year.
