Ready For a Wildflower “Super Bloom”? It’s Coming!
In what could be a rare ‘super bloom’, Death Valley is transforming from a valley of death to a valley of life.
When asked about the bloom, Park Ranger Alan Van Valkenburg stated, “If you get the chance to see a bloom in Death Valley, especially a super bloom, you should take the opportunity to see it because it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Alan went on to say, “Everything is in place for a super bloom to happen, but we are anxiously waiting for the forecasted El Niño rains to start falling before the flowers wilt. The wildflower bloom is already very nice, but should become more widespread and long-running with that rain. Keep your fingers crossed!”
When asked about the length of the ‘super bloom’, Alan went on to say, “On the valley floor the bloom should last until April. Then there may be different flowers at higher elevations.
