As April wraps up, the east coast could shatter dozens of record highs. Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 90s for some this weekend, surpassing the average by over 20 degrees!
A high pressure system will move in late Friday night, settling just off the Florida coast for the weekend. This means warm air will transport northward into the northeast Friday into Saturday. Several cities may see record breaking temperatures.
Temperatures will cool off slightly towards Saturday night into Sunday, but only by a few degrees. Sunday may still break records with high’s in the upper 80s. Much like Saturday, Sunday should see light winds and mostly clear skies from the Florida Keys up to the New England Coast. However, a wet, convective system is expected to move through Sunday night, providing the chance for thunderstorms on Monday.
