Rough Night in Dallas-Fort Worth Due to Ice

A quick update from WeatherNation on rapidly deteriorating conditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex:

-A fatal accident occurred as a result of a seven-car pileup this evening in Little Elm, Texas, just north of Dallas

-Part of I-20 just west of Fort Worth was shut down due to a major accident, and was shut off as of late Wednesday night

-Accidents are being reported in virtually every corner of Dallas-Fort Worth, and local authorities are urging residents to stay off the roads if possible

-A DART green line train reportedly stopped due to ice, stranding some passengers on the train for up to two hours

-Schools are closed in Fort Worth and Arlington for Thursday. Dallas Public Schools hadn’t made a decision, as of very late Wednesday night

-Already 348 flights (15-20% of total flights) into and out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport have been cancelled for Thursday, with more cancellations likely into the early morning hours
