At least four tornadoes touched down Friday afternoon in east-central Illinois.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln, Illinois reported at least four tornadoes touched down between 6:30 and 7:30 pm CDT within Champaign, Clark and Vermilion counties.
In Champaign County the tornado was located three miles south of Sidney to one mile southeast of Homer. In Clark County a brief tornado touched down two miles south of Casey. Two other tornadoes occurred in Vermilion County near Bismark and Caitlin.
Saturday morning the Lincoln, Illinois NWS will go out and survey the storms in Champaign and Vermilion counties. Based on the storm survey the NWS will give the tornadoes a rating off the Enhanced Fujita Scale.
The Champaign County Sheriff’s office said a corn crib and two residences were destroyed, but no injuries.
