An area that was especially hard hit was Eastern Kentucky, where up to six inches of rain fell in less than six hours. Johnson County, Kentucky saw the worst of the flooding on Monday where one person died and another 11 are missing from the Flat Gap and Ramey Branch area.
Eastern Kentucky is in the middle of an Enhanced Risk of severe weather for Tuesday and under a Flash Flood Watch until 8 PM EDT Tuesday. More thunderstorms worked their way through the flooded area early Tuesday morning and another round is expected later Tuesday.
