Severe Storms Possible for the Central and Southern U.S. This Weekend
A large area of low pressure will be moving across the Country this weekend. North of this system will mean heavy snow, but to the South of this system we are forecasting heavy rain and the potential for severe storms. Here is the very latest on the severe storm chance.
A 15% risk for severe storms has already been issued from the Storm Prediction Center. It is still too far out to determine if all modes of severe weather will be in the forecast, but go ahead and start to plan for damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes.
The latest timing for the storms will be from Saturday afternoon to Saturday night. Because of how far out this forecast is we can’t rule out severe storm chances into early Sunday morning as well.
Not only will there be a chance for severe storms, but heavy rain could lead to some areas of flash flooding. This latest forecast is showing over 5 inches for eastern Tennessee.
