26 Apr 2017, 4:19 pm

The threat for severe thunderstorms tonight stretches from the Ohio Valley to the Gulf of Mexico. Numerous Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Watches have already been issued today and more may be needed tonight. There is an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms from the Bootheel of Missouri to the Arklatex region.

There is a risk for tornadoes, especially in Northern Louisiana and Southern Arkansas ahead of a low pressure center. As a cold front races to the east, thunderstorms will develop into a squall line. Along with tornadoes, flooding rains, damaging winds, and large hailstones are all possible. Storms will begin to weaken in the overnight.
