Severe Thunderstorms Chances in the Plains and Midwest

8 Jun 2017, 4:32 pm

There is a risk for severe thunderstorms tonight extending from the High Plains into the Southern Plains. Hail larger than one inch in diameter and wind gusts greater than 60 mph are most likely in Montana and into the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles.

A slow moving front and low pressure center will create a few showers and thunderstorms that may become severe through tonight in Montana. The most likely area for severe weather is in central part of the state.

The chance for severe thunderstorms slides into North Dakota Friday and into the Western Great Lakes Saturday. Strong winds and large hail are the biggest threat.
