Building warmth into the Plains will lead to temperatures maxing out in the 70s and 80s before the cold front moves through. Instability will peak late afternoon when storms become severe.
Storms Sunday evening will have the potential to produce large hail, damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado.
This threat will be greatest from central Iowa into Oklahoma. Cities at risk include Oklahoma City, Wichita, Omaha and Des Moines.
