Severe Weather for the Upper Great Lakes and Ohio Valley on Sunday

2 Nov 2017, 2:12 pm

The risk for severe weather is increasing for parts of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio this weekend.  It is still very far out in the forecast, but forecast models are in good agreement on thunderstorms developing along a cold front by Sunday afternoon.

Severe Weather Set-Up

A warm front moving into southern Michigan will bring a surge of warm and humid conditions into the Ohio Valley Sunday morning.  A cold front moving out of the Central Plains will continue to move east and trigger showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.  Any storms that develop will likely turn severe very quickly.

Severe Weather Risks

All of the severe weather risks will be possible with any storms that turn severe.

-Large Hail
-Damaging Winds
-Heavy Rain
-Isolated Tornadoes

Timing

The latest timing for the storms looks like it will be during the afternoon and evening hours on Sunday.  This timing could change with it being so far out so stay tuned to WeatherNation if you live in this region for more updates.
