As of Monday evening, Hurricane Seymour continues to strengthen off the coast of Mexico. Seymour is now a category 2 hurricane and still poses no threat to land as it moves west-northwest in the Pacific Ocean.
Seymour is moving toward the west-northwest near 16-mph, and is expected to slow some through Tuesday. A turn toward the northwest should occur by Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds have rapidly increased to near 100-mph, with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is likely and Seymour is forecast to become a major hurricane tonight or Tuesday.
