Six Tornadoes Confirmed in Texas Sunday Night
San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor issued a disaster declaration after multiple tornadoes touched down in the San Antonio area Sunday night.
Storm surveys were conducted Monday by the National Weather Service in San Antonio, Texas. The National Weather Service said two EF-2 tornadoes touched down in Williamson County, both near Thrall.
Two EF-1 tornadoes also touched down on the north and northeast sides of the city. The Ridgeview/Alamo Heights tornado had estimated wind speeds of 105-mph and was 4.6 miles long. The Northern Hills tornado also had wind speeds of 105-mph and was 1.5 miles long.
Another tornado damaged homes near the Glen subdivision in northeast Bexar County. That tornado had estimated wind speeds of 80-mph, and was 1.6 miles long. The sixth twister briefly touched down near Garden Ridge had wind speeds estimated at 85-mh and was almost three-quarters of a mile long.
No major injuries were reported from any of these tornadoes.
