Snow continues to fall in portions of the High Plains and Northwest and another round will move into the region later this weekend. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from Glacier Park in Montana to the Badlands of North Dakota and the Black Hills of South Dakota. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Sunday in parts of Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa.
Snowfall totals will reach well over 6″ from the Northern Rockies into the Upper Midwest. With areas of rain and melting snow due warmer temperatures in Washington and Idaho, flooding is possble. Flood Watches continue for Spokane, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls.
Light snow will continue to fall across Montana into North and South Dakota tonight, diminishing Saturday morning. Snow showers will develop Saturday afternoon and evening from the Cascades through the Tetons.
A stronger low pressure center will move into the Upper Midwest on Sunday. The system will move quickly, but it is likely to dump 4″ to 8″ of snow into Monday morning across South Dakota, Southern Minnesota, and Iowa.
