Winter weather has arrived for areas of West Texas, along the border with Mexico. A mix of rain and snow has been falling throughout much of the day near the Rio Grande. As colder air arrives tonight, most areas will switch over all snow, which will begin to accumulate.

We will see another round of precipitation starting late tonight and most of this will fall as snow. The most snow will fall in Hudspeth County with less snow the further north and west your go. #WinterIsHere pic.twitter.com/eJ1mWlRWJN

A low pressure center south of the area in Mexico is bringing moisture into the region. A cold high pressure center to the north, pushing into New Mexico, will drive in the cold air across most of Texas. The high will move far enough south into the area by Thursday night, bringing an end to the precipitation.
