Snow Begins to Pile Up Again in the West

1 Feb 2017, 4:24 pm

The snow continues to fly in the West, and much more is on the way. From the Pacific Ocean to the Rockies, the moisture is falling and it will continue into the weekend.

Winter Storm Alerts are in effect from the Front Range to the Pacific Coast. Some areas may see mixed precipitation, but most spots will be seeing heavy snow.

A strong low pressure center in the Pacific Ocean will continue to pump significant moisture into the West. Totals have been climbing in Idaho and Montana already today and will likely be over a foot in many areas by later tonight.

Snowfall accumulations will once again be several feet in the mountains. Some ice is possible in Oregon and Colorado. Heavy rain will be falling along the Pacific Coast.

A series of systems will march across the West, keeping the precipitation going through this weekend.
