Snow Falling Across the Western Great Lakes

1 Mar 2017, 4:28 pm

Snow continues to fall across the Western Great Lakes and has become heavy at times in parts of Michigan and Wisconsin. Visibility has been reduced in some of the snow squalls, with totals above 4″ already in some areas.

Winter Storm Warnings continue across eastern sections of the Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Michigan. Winter Weather Advisories extend through Eastern Wisconsin and into Central Lower Michigan.

Total snow accumulations will hit 6″ to 10″ in parts of Michigan, with 3″ to 6″ in Wisconsin. Lighter snowfall amounts will be found across the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and Ohio Valley.

The low pressure center will push across the Ohio Valley tonight and into the Atlantic Ocean by Thursday afternoon. Steady snowfall will gradually diminish tonight, with only scattered snow showers in the lake effect snow belts for Thursday.
