Snow, wind, and rain continues in portions of the West, although less widespread than previous storms. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for heavy snow in the Sierra Nevada of California and for the Salmon – Challis Range in Idaho. 6″ to 10″ of snow could fall in the highest peaks.
Heavy rain is possible in Northern Idaho to north of Spokane in Washington. A Flood Watch continues for flooding concerns and the potential for mudslides.
Strong winds will continue this evening, especially in Utah. Gusts above 60 mph are possible. The wind will start to decrease overnight.
A cold front is moving into the Rockies with moisture continuing through the West. Pockets of heavy rain and snow extend across the Pacific Northwest. Snow will diminish in the Sierra.
Drier conditions will build over the region Saturday, but another system will move toward the coast Sunday. More rain and snow is likely for California by Sunday evening.
