Snowpack Seen From Satellite Sparks Flooding Concerns

The Midwest’s first snow of the season can be seen from a NOAA satellite. The image was taken on Monday showing snowpack on the ground from Nebraska to Michigan.

The snowpack is a concern for the Chicago area because of rising temperatures. Over the next few days, winds out of the south will bring warmer air to the region. Temperatures will rise from the 40s to the upper 50s, melting the snow. Along with the expected rainfall on Thanksgiving, area rivers will rise and possibly flood.
