Downpours in Miami and Naples helped push both cities to brand new daily records. By sunrise on Friday, Miami had already surpassed yet another record total. Streets near the Aventura Mall had to be closed into the morning commute due to rising waters. More rain is on the way through the weekend as a front stalls out in the southern part of the state. After more than five inches in the last 48 hours, the ground is already saturated. A Flood Watch for Broward and Miami-Dade counties will carry into Saturday morning, with an additional 2-3″ of rainfall expected.
