Relentless rain for Texas is expected to continue through the rest of the weekend. As of early Saturday morning, nearly 18″ of rain has fallen just south of Dallas in the town of Corsicana, Texas over the past 24 hours. There have been multiple water rescues that have taken place as the water continues to rise. Most of the rain that has fallen so far has been between Texarkana just to the south of Dallas and toward the southwest into the town of Killeen, Texas. However, this rain is expected to slowly slide to the southeast as a cold front moves in from the northwest. This will combine with tropical moisture from what was the most powerful hurricane in the western hemisphere, Patricia, and bring widespread flooding and flash flooding toward the coast. This is where an additional 8″-11″ of rain is expected to fall into Sunday morning.
