A few strong to severe storms are still in the forecast to finish out the weekend. Keep a close eye on the weather Sunday around the Great Lakes and Northeast, as well as the northwestern U.S. In these areas, the Storm Prediction Center says there is a “slight risk” of severe storms.

A “slight risk” is on the lower end of severe risk on the SPC scale. This risk level generally means that short lived and/or not widespread isolated intense storms are possible. Generally the expected risks in those isolated intense storms would include hail, high/damaging winds, and perhaps an isolated tornado.

If you live in an area where severe weather is expected, it is smart to have a way to receive storm warnings so you can seek shelter inside as strong storms pass through your area.
