Minor Flood Threat in the Gulf this Weekend

26 Nov 2022, 4:29 pm

GULF – Heavy rain has lead to lots of indoor weather across the Gulf of Mexico, especially Texas and Louisiana this holiday long weekend. Due to the repeated rounds of moisture we anticipate flooding concerns. Please use caution on the roadways if you’re traveling home after Thanksgiving!

Flood Outlook

This evening, the Weather Prediction Center has downgraded the flood risk to a marginal along the Gulf Coast. We could see an additional couple of inches before the system exits early Sunday morning.

Through Sunday morning, we could see rainfall amounts around one to two inches. Although the highest amounts will likely be found along and south of Interstate 20.

As mentioned above, grounds are relatively saturated meaning it may be difficult for them to soak in additional rainfall.
