Sultry to Cool in the Southeast

6 Nov 2017, 4:11 pm

Monday was beyond mild in the southern United States!  A very warm, un-November like temperature pattern has set up shop.  New record high temperatures were set in several cities from the hills of Georgia to the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Houston came within a degree of 90 on November 6th!  Other Texas cities such as Midland and McAllen climbed into the lower 90s Monday afternoon.

Over in Georgia, Atlanta and Athens topped out in the upper 70s and lower 80s, respectively.  Both cities set new records for November 6th.

Looking ahead into Tuesday, coastal cities such as Charleston, South Carolina and Galveston, Texas could potentially reach new record highs.  Many other southern cities will be above normal with highs in the 70s and 80s.

Beyond Tuesday, however, a cold front will slip in from the north and knock temperatures down across the region for the middle and end of the week.
