Temperature Drop Off, Snow and Severe Thunderstorms

29 Apr 2016, 1:31 pm

Spring has certainly sprung across the country and the weather pallet Mother Nature us using is quite multifarious.

Record heat in the southeast today could see records fall this afternoon in Georgia and South Carolina with highs reaching the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.

These warm temperatures drop off significantly across the intermountain west with a strong temperature gradient across the southern plains today.

Significant snow today and into this weekend is expected through the Colorado Rockies, east onto the Colorado plains, central and western Nebraska and south eastern Wyoming.

Severe weather is expected in the central plains today with an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms in southern Oklahoma, western Arkansas, and Texas through Dallas and Houston. Large hail, damaging straight line winds and possible strong tornadoes are a risk this afternoon, evening and tonight.
