Snowfall in the mountains of the west has started to diminish today, but another round will develop for the Cascade Mountains tomorrow. That system will spread across most of the western mountains to end this week, adding to the deeper snow pack that has been building the last few weeks. The next round could easily put down more than a foot in the highest mountain peaks by this weekend.
A few Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect from the Rockies to the Cascades this evening. Snowfall accumulations will remain lighter tonight.
A cold front will begin to approach the Pacific Northwest on Thursday. It will bring in another round of snow to the Cascades.
Friday into Saturday the front will sweep across most of the west. Snow will once again spread from the Bitterroots to the Tetons and Rockies.
