There are countless traditions in this country when it comes to Thanksgiving. For many, football and the fourth Thursday in November go hand-in-hand. Whether it’s outside in the backyard with family or in front of the TV watching the professionals play, football has become a tradition for many on this holiday. Teams from two particular cities—Dallas and Detroit—are mainstays when it comes to Thanksgiving day games.
This year, the Detroit Lions will face the visiting Minnesota Vikings on Thursday at 12:30pm EST. Even though the game will be played indoors, temperatures will be in the 30s outdoors for tailgating. Most of Michigan will remain dry but cool with highs in the 30s and 40s.
The next game on Thanksgiving will feature the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:30pm EST. Conditions will be dry throughout much of Texas while temperatures will be comfortably mild in the 60s and 70s.
The last game of the day will take place near our nation’s capital at 8:30pm EST. The New York Giants will travel to Landover, Maryland to take on the Washington Redskins. Temperatures will fall through the 30s during the game. Winds will be light, so wind chill values won’t be too much colder than the air temperature….great news for fans attending this game in an outdoor stadium!
