Here is a look at some of the big weather stories we will be covering today on WeatherNation.

Heavy Rain for the Northeast

A cold front will be stalling over parts of Maine and Massachusetts and with abundant moisture streaming along this front out of the south, heavy rain will be possible.  Some parts of Maine and eastern Massachusetts could see several inches of rain through Thursday.

Snow Chances for North Dakota and Minnesota Thursday and Friday

An area of low pressure moving out of southern Canada will bring cold air and snow chances to parts of North Dakota and Minnesota.  Ground temperatures are still relatively warm this time of year, but significant accumulation will still be possible.

Freeze Watches and Warnings

A strong push of cold air is in the forecast for a large portion of the country.  Freeze watches and frost advisories are in effect from Wisconsin down to Tennessee for Thursday morning.  The cold air will even push far enough south for a hard freeze in the Texas Panhandle.

We will be covering these stories and many more all day on-air and online.
