7. Avalanche on Snoqualmie Pass

The Washington State Department of Transportation triggered an avalanche on Monday after repeated storms dumped heavy snow across the region. A change in temperatures and types of snow made for an unstable snowpack, prompting the state to take extreme measures in order to keep travelers safe.

6. Flooding out West

Incessant rain and snow across the Western U.S. lead to widespread flooding and mudslides from California to Idaho. This is just one of the many videos showing the floods. Thankfully this elderly gentleman was rescued and made it out safely after his truck was swept away in the flood waters.

High winds accompanied the storms in the West. Winds were responsible for rapidly spreading fires and toppling semis. Thankfully the trooper was not in his car when this happened…

4. Meteor Streaks Across Midwestern Sky

Residents of Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Indiana reported a bright green meteor streaking across the sky Monday night. Thankfully we have this rare sight on video so we can all appreciate its wonder.

A meteor was caught flying through the sky in Illinois Monday night in just Illinois. It could also be seen in Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana. National Weather Service branches in Wisconsin and Illinois said that they received multiple reports of a meteor sighting.Billy Giv said, “I work at O’Hare and It was almost directly overhead the airport streaking north. Very very bright and green and you could actually see it breaking apart”.

3. Blizzard of Epic Proportions

It’s been more than 2 years since Boston experienced a blizzard. Sustained winds of 30 miles per hour, visibility of less than 1/4 mile, all lasting 3 hours or more. This is just one of many videos out of the region, but what a storm it was. Now the Northeast braces for yet another winter storm that will pack quite the punch!

This particular video is of fire crews putting out a fire that started after lightning struck a tree in Rhode Island! You read that right! The winter storm was powerful enough that there were reports of cloud to ground lightning in the middle of near white out snow!

1. Never Do This

Shocking, incredible, dangerous– all words that describe our top video from this past week. This was the EF-3 tornado that ripped through New Orleans East on Tuesday. Not only was it a miracle that this videographer wasn’t hurt, but there were no deaths associated with any of the tornadoes that hit Southern Louisiana this past week.
