Here is a look at some of the top weather stories we are covering today on-air and online.
Extreme Heat for the Southwest
The hot temperatures continue for the Southwest as the Santa Ana winds will continue to bring record temperatures to California and Arizona. Temperatures will be so warm that excessive heat warnings have already been issued for southwest California.
Severe Chances for the Northeast
Parts of the Northeast could see some strong storms by Tuesday afternoon. A strong cold front pushing towards the east will bring the threat of damaging winds and even some isolated tornadoes.
Strong Winds and Rain for the Great Lakes
An area of low pressure located over the Great Lakes will bring rain and strong winds to parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. Wind advisories and high wind warnings are in effect through Tuesday afternoon. The north winds will likely bring high waves in Lake Superior and Lake Michigan…maybe even wave heights up to 25 feet.
