Tornado Touches Down in Grand Rapids; Damage Reported
A tornado touched down on the southwest side of Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday afternoon, causing damage to parts of the city and several nearby suburbs.
Damage was reported in Grand Rapids’ southwestern suburbs, including Grandville and Wyoming. No injuries have been reported so far.
The National Weather Service office out of Grand Rapids confirmed several tornadoes in and near Grand Rapids, although no ratings have been issued. Ratings are expected later today.
The associated cold front responsible for the severe weather is moving east and could bring stronger storms to the I-95 corridor on Sunday, including cities like Philadelphia, New York City and Washington, D.C.
