Tornadoes Impact Ohio, Threat Continues


Tornadoes have been reported on the ground, doing damage in the Akron Ohio area — most notably in Stowe. At this point, the damage appears to be sporadic, but this is a fluid situation and additional damage reports are likely.

The storms that produced the damage are tracking to the northeast at 30-mph.

A caller to the 911 center in Portage County, Ohio reports that State Route 305 was closed due to debris in the road.

WeatherNation meteorologists are working to get more information on this breaking event. We will update as more information becomes available.

The threat for severe weather, including a chance for tornadoes, will continue in the late evening hours for parts of Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
