We’re heading into a more active time of the year for tropical season. Typically the months of August and September get more active and favorable for tropical development in the Atlantic and Pacific basins.
As of Saturday morning, there are 2 named tropical storms in the eastern Pacific, Hilary and Irwin plus one area of possible development. In the Atlantic, there are no named storms, but one area to keep an eye on over the next week.
Both regions have gotten off to an active start with already four named storms in the Atlantic, and nine named storms in the Pacific…nearly a month ahead of schedule compared to an average year.
