Tropical Storm Bill

Tropical Storm Bill made landfall south southwest of Port O’Connor on Matagorda Island, TX at 11:45 AM local time according to The National Hurricane Center. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect from Corpus Christi, TX to east of Houston, TX. Heavy rain and sustained winds of 50-60 MPH are being reported with this storm. Houston ISD cancelled summer school classes, student activities and camps today due to the threat for flooding and severe weather. Flash flood watches have been issued for the Houston area through 6 p.m. Wednesday with street flooding likely. Bill seems to have its eyes aimed towards the already highly saturated Dallas area. Many areas of Texas are still trying to recover from up to 25 inches of rain since early May. WeatherNation will continue to track Bill as it continues to move into Texas and neighboring states.
