Tuesday Morning Frost in the Great Lakes and Northeast

8 May 2017, 4:39 pm

Cold temperatures for this time of year have settled across the Northeast and Great Lakes. Frost is possible later tonight and freezing temperatures may be felt on Tuesday morning. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories include nine states from Lake Michigan to the Atlantic Ocean.

30s were widespread across the region this morning and will once again be likely Tuesday morning. A strong area of high pressure is sitting over the region, bringing the dry air, calm winds, and clear skies – perfect ingredients for frost to form and temperatures to fall below freezing.

The high will still be around to influence the weather again on Wednesday morning. The Western Great Lakes will see warmer readings, but 30s are still possible in the Northeast.
