Over Two Dozen Tornadoes Reported in Record Storm

At least 36 tornadoes had been reported on Monday, according to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) – half of the entire nationwide November U.S. average of 56 tornadoes.

Damage was reported on the south side of the city of Pampa, Texas after a possible large tornado moved through the area around 7pm CDT. Amarillo TV station KAMR reported that two Gray County Sheriff’s Deputies had gotten sick due to a possible gas leak in the area.

Several tornadoes were spotted in Kansas and are being blamed for damage to power lines and buildings. Chasers reported a quarter of a mile wide tornado near Plains City, Kansas.

As of 8:15pm CDT, 2,000 residents in the city of Amarillo, Texas were without power following severe storms that moved through the area late Monday evening.
